It’s the little things in life that are often the most enjoyable. When I think of growing up, the things that stand out from my childhood tend to be experiences or sensations rather than expensive things. Don’t get me wrong, I still remember the delight at getting a Gameboy for my birthday and mastering the art of Tetris, but hearing sleigh bells outside my room on Christmas night, panting as I ran to the very top of a hill, seeing Easter Bunny footprints in our veg patch and having explosive water fights with my friends in long, hot summers have all left a much larger imprint on my memory.
In our digital age where my 3 year old can switch on a tablet and find the Cbeebies app, and in a time where children have so much ‘stuff’, I thought it would be nice to get back to basics and make a bucket list for Wonderboy which embraces the simpler joys in life. Plus, if nothing else, it’ll give us inspiration for things to do when we’re at a lose end!
